Experiences of a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia
Breaking News: I’ll be living in Arandis
The CED group listens patiently to how the site assignments were made. We all just wanted to know where we are going, not why.Lots of smiles and laughter and “Oh, wow! Where’s that?” questions.Site Announcement Day revealed our new homes and projects. This close-knit group will soon disperse throughout a country twice the size of California.Joel’s Afrikaans group is very happy with our sites and projects! My “client,” the Arandis Town Council, provided this brochure for my site information package. I’ll be working with the CEO.
Until recently, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia focused on Community Economic Development. Before that, I was a high-tech executive, small business owner, consultant and business broker. View all posts by Chris

Oh, Chris! How exciting! Congratulations! The program is very lucky to have you in the group! What an asset you are….but, then, we all knew that already!
Enjoy….Take Care…Keep the “post” coming! What fun to read!
Oh wow I’m so stoked for you! Finally the veil has been lifted. Do you know any other people locating to Arandis? Have you had contact with your “client” yet?
So proud of you dad! I gotta say your smile and eyes are looking wider with every update, loving it!
Thanks, Tyler! I’ve met the other PCV who is based in Arandis – she’s also a CED (business) volunteer and has been there for a year. But she’s working with another client so I don’t know how much I’ll be working with her. And I won’t meet my client until I’m sworn in and move there in mid-June. My nearest Group 43 colleague will be Andrew in Swakopmond, 60 km away.
