Listen to this!

Surprises appear regularly and unexpectedly in Namibia. While hanging my laundry on the clothesline during a quiet Sunday afternoon, I heard beautiful a cappella music nearby. A 15-person choir was rehearsing in the corner of an alleyway where they enjoyed great acoustics. It’s more than 5 minutes long and I hope you enjoy it, too.

And no, the photograph has nothing to do with the music…

Giorgio and Giovanni are going to see Liverpool vs. AC Milan tomorrow at Levi stadium. Then we will see Earthquakes vs. New York City FC the following week at Avaya stadium. We’ll be thinking of you!

    1. Jim, I asked my colleagues at work. The song is in Oshivambo, the most prevalent of the 14 main languages spoken in the country, mostly by people from “the North.” They also tell me “the song tells biblical stories about redemption…” So, yes, a happy theme!
